Somethings cooking .........

Hello there and welcome, it's lovely to see you:0)
The challenge over at Less is More this week is a recipe

Take 3 Challenges
We want you to choose 3 from any of our previous 29 and combine them in your design.

My card is using challenges
  • week 1 Pink Black and white.
  • week 2 One layer , flower or tree.
  • week 4 Three squares.
I chose the first three because I didn't take part in the challenges until week 7 so I missed them, if I was really clever I'd have incorporated all the weeks that I missed but sadly I'm not that clever LOL
The Divas Chrissie and Mandi have made some fabulous samples, check them out, if you have a minute!

I made a mask with my embossing board using Eclipse tape ( best thing since sliced bread, oh yeah!) and Graham's embossing board, I scored the 3 squares with a small embossing tool. This made the edges tear until I removed the squares making all the edges softer when I inked them. Cool!
The Chrysanthemum flower is from a really old stamp set from when Lakeland were selling crafty goodies! Oriental vases and swallows, I'm sure you've seen the set before. I stamped the whole image onto eclipse again and cut out the flower. Now using the tape upside down on top of the stamp I masked the rest of the image and just inked the flower. I've always loved that flower:0) I wonder what it would look like turned facing up?..........have to try that one :0) I can see you now turning your head to get a view, I only know that because that's what I did too LOL

My favourite is the one without......... I think !

All brayered out?

Hi lovely crafty people, Thank you for dropping by.
I've been playing with a brayer again, over at the Craft Barn Blog the Wishing Well is all about brayering.
Netty said...
I'm rubbish with the brayer. Can't keep blaming the brayer and would love some help please.

So I had another play

I used a nestie cut out from card which is thicker than paper for the template because I wanted a soft edge to the finished circle. Torn paper for the horizon, the big and Juicy ink pads are wonderful for brayering, the colours are all there for you! I heard a rumour that Ranger have stopped making them, that makes me sad:{  Copics to colour.
Over at the Craft Barn the team have made more lovely examples, do check it out:0)  I hope that you'll give the brayer a try it may be your next best friend LOL Gay x

Doh!! moment!!!!

Okay! I know Ive lost the plot but  why didn't anyone tell me it was Thursday yesterday? Here I am grovelling and apologizing all over the place and I had at least 24hrs before I had to do that LOL Well here I am again no apology but this is my second submission to the LIM challenge but this one really does MOVE! In a circular fashion,!!

Today I've used the babies from the Stampin up set Baby firsts and a teddy stamp from Stamps by Judith.
I hope you like it even if it's a bit late LOL Gay x

P.s apologies for the hand written sentiment, I really couldn't find what I wanted  to say in a stamp, Gay

Get your brayers out??

Hi , hello and happy to see you, I've been playing with my brayer! Not everyone can say that, actually I'm not sure many would want to  LOL!!
The Craft Barn Wishing well this week was a request from

Netty and she said...

I used the new Fresco paints from Paper Artsy, fabulous new acrylic chalk finish and beautiful surface to stamp on and lovely glistening sparkle from the metallic glaze. Over at the Craft Barn Blog  there are detailed photographs of how I got this result using my brayer. The stamp is by Crafty individuals called Life is a Beach, one of my favourites:0)

Somethings moving...........

Okay, big apologies people, Sorry I've been AWOL and this is soo late but it's here at last, my submission to Less is More,
this week's challenge which is a 'Theme' and we would like to see
Things that Move
This could be interpreted in a variety of ways...an actual moving component on your card, so a pop up, a shaker, a spinner, a charm, a tag... we could go on...

Mojo was missing this week, I could not get my head into creating mode but here is tonight's effort, I hope you like!
Skin of my teeth comes to mind here, oh dear, sorry Chrissie and Mandi :0)

Something shiny?

Hello there, hope you're having a good day? Lovely and shiny Cosmic Shimmer is what we've been playing with at the Craft Barn and I've made a card
It's lovely and shiny. To make my card I put lots of newspaper over the floor and standing over my shiny paper I lightly sprayed three colours, two chalk misters and Ancient Copper Cosmic shimmer.
When it was dry I stamped the Tim Holtz Papillons and then stamped again one of the butterflies onto Acetate with stazon. Cut it out and painted the ancient copper on the reverse side to protect it from wear and tear, hope you like, TTFN Gay x

Lots more examples from the Craft Barn,

All inky at LIM

Hello crafty friends, Hope the weekend has been a great one :0)
Over at LIM this week Mandi and Chrissie have challenged us to get all inky,

Once more we are back to the second week of the month and so our challenge is for a
ONE LAYER CARD

If you are not sure of the principles of this genre, do check out our Guidelines at the top of our blog.
The special feature we would like to see this week is for you to
USE INK
** This does include ink pads **
...hopefully in a way you haven't tried before.... or using a favourite technique.
I had a great time with this one and chose to use Andy Skinners inky technique This is fun, he has a video so pop over and check it out if you have a minute:0) I turned the card on it's side and marbled it just on that side, let it dry and then stamped the Graphic 45 Cling Le Circ2 . What was really interesting was the Copics I used to colour were taking the coloured ink down and I got a lift that was totally unsuspected but very welcome. You can see it on the leaves and the yellow of the ladies dress sleeves.
I have a feeling there maybe more attempts at this challenge, I love getting inky, Great challenge again ladies, Thanks! I have photos of the inside but although interesting I think I'm going to cover it up with a liner, the Copics bled through :{

I've had a very busy crafty weekend but I can't share any of it yet, sorry. At the Craft Barn Blog we have something quite interesting coming up in the next few weeks and I think you may want to play along, I'll keep you posted TTFN Have a wonderful week all :0)

Sticky back canvas anyone?

Hi there my crafty friends, Hope you're all fine and fit and if not hope you are soon!
The wishing well for this week at the Craft Barn was a request from Sarah.............................

I have seen a lot of posts around blogland recently which use sticky back canvas. I would love to have an idea what to do or make with it before I buy any!

So I've been having a go, first time I've used this product too. I thoroughly enjoyed playing. This is what I made

Two drawing books for my grand daughters, I used Claudine Hellmuth's sticky back canvas , stamped onto it with memento black and used Copics to intensify the shaded areas. The pink version I painted with Eco green acrylic paints and then embellished with Beadazzels. I cut them out very raggedly and frayed them, I loved the texture of the canvas. The girls loved them too, we went out to the park and they were drawing away happily for the journey, success :0)

I was really surprised how much I enjoyed using the canvas and I'm glad I've got lots left for more projects, I'd like to try it on a rounded surface next. At the Craft Barn Neil has done just that and there are more great samples from the team. TTFN Gay x

A little late for LIM........again !!

Hi everyone, so sorry I've been missing for a few days busy times! There was a brilliant mini fest going on at the Craft Barn on Saturday, I had a great time watching all the demos and shopping :0) On Sunday I took a fantastic workshop with Jean Hardy from Crafty Individuals at the Craft Barn again! Fabulous time and beautiful makes, lucky me:0)
And I've been looking after the gorgeous girlies too, the grand daughters, lucky me :0)
I've made a couple of cards for the LIM 27 Challenge
This week it's time for another colour challenge and for your delectation this week, we have decided to ask you make a card  using the
COLOURS
of
YOUR NATION'S FLAG!

This card uses a corner stamp onto the card and then onto velum. I used embossing paste onto the card and inked up with distress inks afterwards. The bodies of the butterflies are bits from the centre of grunge board numbers. Inking onto the velum needed coloured Stazon.

This card is the one I made first and here I used Tim Holtz Rock Candy, crackle glaze. When used on velum it drys quite crinkly but I love the effect, it has the added bonus of making it hard to see the adhesive behind, NICE! I've raised it up with Pinflair glue gel. I hope you like? Now I need to get myself off to the LIM site and check out all those fabulous entries by the Limettes TTFN Gay xx

Crafty Individuals Oh yeah:0)

Hello there crafty people, I hope you're bright eyed and bushy tailed today:0)
I made another card using some of the Crafty Individuals stamps, from the Craft Barn CI week of inspiration.
This was a card for my lovely blogging buddy Emily, she has just bought a new house, brilliant news. I'm sure you would very much enjoy a visit  to her blog and Emily would make you very welcome, she has made some very inspiring cards :0)
I stamped Crafty Individuals houses and an embossed image from the T. H embossing folder.  I was so pleased to discover if I stamped over the embossed image with the Impression Obsession Cover a card stamp the stripes looked good, magic! I coloured the stripes with a copic pen, cool shadow, a very cool blue, a favourite one.
Feeling a little under par, sorry I've not been around much, Grandma duties too! Happy Saturday to you :0)

I used
