LIM a whole year:0)

Hi there crafty people, I hope today is a good one for you. I have been making cards over the weekend, nothing new there:0) I had to wait till today to take photographs though because the light here has been dire.
LIM is 1year old! Many congratulations and thanks to Chrissie and Mandi's hard work and dedication, I have loved taking part in nearly all of the challenges.
This week we have a sketch to follow and mustn't alter it!!

This card is  using a Paperbag studio stamp and Claudine Hellmuth's stamps Papertrey ink sentiment.
The next card was a bit of an experiment using Tattered Angels mists, dribbling is something I gave up a while ago but it seems it's back LOL

I used Pardo Jewellery Clay for the heart and a Crafty individuals stamp. I added a large die cut sentiment here and can't really decide if I prefer it with or without mmmmm, what d'you think?

It has a proper Swarovski gem, I love the intense sparkle they give and adhered with some Diamond glaze it has a little area of shine surrounding it. It's definitely the little things LOL

The consensus so far is split, some of you like the large sentiment and some aren't keen, LOL I appreciate all your help Thanks :0)

Thanks for visiting, Gay x

Big Stamps, cover a card!

That's right folks that's just what they do!! Hello and welcome, I'm struggling with the witty titles can you tell? Oh yes I'm afraid it's all gone to pot, big sigh, never mind, I think you'll get the gist:0)
I've been playing with cover a card stamps, making backgrounds and cutting them up

First a card, really clean and simple, I liked the designs and the play of colours so just laid them on my card base and played around with them, finally settling on this :0)

I made an art journal page with just one of the strips I had cut.
Over at the Craft Barn there is a step by step gallery of how I made the paper for these and the team have been playing with the Impression Obsession Cover a Card stamps this week, they have made some gorgeous creations.
Thanks for your visit Gay xx

OLW 76 Colour in Winter.

Hi folks I'm back with another card:0) This time it's for Susan's challenge over at Simplicity, it's OLW 76 and this is the challenge

OLW76 Rules

1. A one-layer card is defined as a single layer of card stock folded in half. No other layers allowed.

2. Use white, gray, and a pop of bright color. (Black is allowed for sentiments if necessary.) Remember to keep embellishments to a minimum.

more info on the blog, click on the link above

 I used Banana Frog stamps, I will really miss them :{
White detail embossing powder and a little bit of bling,

Here, on the right is the first version, I could not decide where to put the little star, finally it went on the last star in the sentiment, I only included this photograph because it occurred to me that it was by far the better photo. The sunlight behind  the card was a bonus but replicating that could be very difficult :0)
I hope wherever you are in your day that it's a good one, Gay x

It's Rudolph day :0)

Hello there my crafty friends,  Over at Stamping for Pleasure it's definitely a Rudolph day and Sandra is collecting us up and inviting us to join her in making a Christmas card, so here is mine

Banana Frog have closed their store so I'm posting this rather sadly, it is one of my favourites of their stamp sets, Christmas Elegance.
Update, not closed yet if you would like a bargain some stamps are still available! HERE

I stamped and then sparkled with Sakura clear glitter gel pen and a waterbrush, you can see the soft glitter here..........

I hope you like and why not join us and be ready for next Christmas LOL Gay x

I would like to enter my card into the CAS-ual  Friday CFC  C36 challenge. ( thanks Jenny:0)!! )

Cut it out.............. snigger, no.......... I don't mean stop! LOL

Hello there and welcome, Today I'm playing silly wotsits, sorry :{ I'll behave now.
Chrissie and Mandi at LIM have set a new challenge for this week and it's to
Cut It Out
For this we would like to see some kind of hole or aperture in your card!

Sooo I made a card or two

I got a new die and wanted to play it's a Sizzix Bigz and it's pretty big but I love the ornate shape, here I just popped a flower over the sentiment to see what it would look like, I think I prefer the words!
This die looks a little like a clock. That may be another option methinks LOL

Here you can see the embossing that's a Tim Holtz Texture Fade.
I've kept the cards as clean and simple as possible and there's no stamping or inking other than the sentiments. Too clean? Could be!
And here it is in green, perhaps a card for a man, a birthday, maybe? On top of the green card I rubbed a gold wax, that helps to show the embossing, this folder is a Couture Creations. I got mine from the Craft Barn
I hope you have had a good weekend and thanks for stopping by,  Gay x

Mechanical cards, they work, move and such like!

Hi folks, I'm back with a new card today, On the Craft Barn Blog this week we have been highlighting cards that have a mechanical movement of some kind, mine is very simple.
There are simple step by step pictures on the blog that show how I got the pop up to work. It must be simple if I did it LOL
Here is the front of the card
Stamps are by KanBan and called Mocha Boudoir, very much fun mmm I think that all you need is chocolate and maybe a candle LOL Relaxing bath mmmmmmm Have a great weekend, Gay x

One Layer Wednesday, pink and red!!!

OLW is Baaack. Yay, I'm happy! Susan has returned with One Layer Wednesday after her very busy Christmas and move. The challenge this week is for the colours pink and red mmmm not a favourite combination but I've had a bash
The light is a little challenging here, bright sunshine but through the leaded windows I have to get in the right position between panes to maximise the available light hence dark edges here. Roll on the spring:0)
I used
Hero Arts Large blossom I got mine from the Craft Barn.
The sentiment is a very old Inkadinkadoo, reminds me of the 70's style, love and flower power era which of course I know nothing about!!!!!
I painted the flowers with Twinkling H2o's the pink is an interference colour and glistens with gold, love the effect.
The stamp I embossed with Cosmic Shimmer EB Blue Raspberry Aurora, nice.

Thank you all for your wonderful healing wishes for my back it improves every minute but I couldn't possibly hoover or clean it's really rather delightful, LOL Gay xxx

The birds AAhhhh, you know like Hitchcock, birds everywhere argh....

Well maybe not!  It's just 'Birds' doesn't sound very interesting now does it? Chrissie and Mandi the Lady LIM Diva's over at LIM have challenged us to make a one layer, clean and simple card with birds:0) I love birds they can convey so many moods on a card, Chrissie made me smile with her chicken card and Mandi never fails to impress with her elegant cards.
 I made two :0)

Hi there and very welcome here, I'm not such a happy bunny today I twisted my back yesterday and now I'm very stiff and sore:{ That will teach me to be more careful when I'm cleaning the shower! Perhaps I shouldn't be doing it, cleaning that is......... now there's a thought LOL
My cards use:
Bird stamp by Local King stamps A Canadian company and 2 sentiment stamps by Elusive images, now Chocolate Baroque although I couldn't find them there. Retired perhaps.
Have a great week my friends, Gay xxx

Playing with colour :0)

Hello there my crafty friends, Over at the Craft Barn all this week we have been exploring colours and their relationships with other colours. Colour is one of my favourite subjects and each combination is my favourite depending on the season and my mood LOL
I have made 3 cards and used each to show one of the combinations that Isabelle has highlighted over on the Craft Barn blog,

First up is the analogous version which uses neighbouring colours, here purple and two blues................
Then I made a complimentary version, two colours opposite each other on the colour wheel, blue and light orange.......
Lastly the triadic card, which is three colours equidistant around the clour wheel. I used purple, orange and green.............
Isabelle has explained HERE how to use the colour wheel much better than I can. If you would like to visit the Craft Barn all will be revealed. There is also a step by step explanation of how I made these cards.
I used a Gorguss Girl, Winters night stamp and Tim's distress inks. The colour wheels are a great tool and they are available on the CB website, here I hope you like.
Have a great weekend, Gay x

Purple haze !

Yes that's right, there is a purple haze over this blog, I enjoyed my last LIM offering so much I've made another LOL
Hello and welcome :0)

This card's quite similar to my last offering for this very purple challenge because I used the same ink, (love it:0) )

I used Basic Grey stamp, Flourish edges and the sentiment is Hero Arts clear , Live Life!

I hope you like this one.  Thank you all so much, for your wonderful support for my last card! You're very kind! Gay x

The colour Purple!

Hi Folks, Nah it's not the book, good as it was it wouldn't make a great card LOL
Over at LIM Chrissie and Mandi have challenged us to produce a predominantly purple card neither Chrissie or Mandi would choose a purple card, which begs the question why choose it, LOL But I'm a happy bunny because purple is a fantastic colour although I don't remember ever making a card  in purple before. Here is my offering...........

My ink is Tim Holtz Seedless Preserve, I love this new colour it's from the fall LTD Edition, gorgeous!
Stamp is Elusive Images from yonks ago but another favourite. I may need to have another bash at this challenge.
I hope you have had a good weekend, Gay x

In which I get to play with inks

Helloo there, I hope this day finds you well? Over at the Craft Barn Blog we have been playing with inks and I got to use Versamark and Versacolor along with some Versamagic, all great inks and for lots of different purposes.
Here I used Versamark and mica powder brushed gently over the top, versamark is brilliant and quite sticky so the mica powder adhered beautifully.
This was using Versamagic a chalky opaque ink great for coverage and on dark card, I used 2 shades a pink and a soft green unfortunately the sun was so weak it doesn't show in the photos.
This card shows how Versamark watermark ink can work on it's own. This is a very simple card made really quickly with just two stamps. The text is from Crafty Secrets Bathing Beauties and is in Versafine, Onyx Black.

For my last card I inked up in Versafine, Deep Lagoon, a gorgeous rich teal, I love it!!! Same stamp set  turned sideways with stamps from Crafty Indviduals as well.

Thank you for looking and see you soon, Have a great weekend Gay x

More details at the Craft Barn Blog
I used
Versamark , Versafine, Versamagic and Versacolor all available at the Craft Barn,

New Year and a New card for LIM 47

Hi there folks,
I'm sitting here chewing on a chocolate, I know it cannot last and thank heavens it can't  because if it did I'd be in trouble, no teeth and challenged widthwise but it's lovely today :0) and I'm enjoying it whilst I can. Are you still surrounded by temptation? Oh it's not easy eh!!!! I've been crafting today, it's great to get back in the saddle, I've made a card for LIM 47
Chrissie and Mandi said...................

Our final challenge for 2011 is
JUST ONE WORD
Whatever type of clean and simple card you make, the sentiment must consist of simply one word.
I guess our card to you would merely say "Thanks ". There are lots of sentiments where a single word can say it all... Enjoy, Welcome, Peace, Joy, Birthday, Sympathy, Love, Thanks etc..

So this is fun a stamp by Impression Obsession, sentiment by Waltzingmouse and the splatter is the master himself, Tim Holtz!
Happy New Year to you all, Gay xxx
