Stampotique in the Pink!!

Well I can't believe this but  I'm still here they haven't disconnected us yet, I bet they do before I get to post this.................:0) Well maybe not! ( I'm getting a new internet supplier and may not be around for a week or so, I will be back as soon as I am able)

Hi there!, here is my card for the Stampotique designers challenge, this time it's purple pink, and black! A very nice colour combo:0)

I got really messy and inky today but you're not going to see the mess I made, I should rephrase that, you wouldn't want to see the mess I made LOL
Stampotique's cute characters lend themselves to being cut up and grouped together, I did enjoy making this.
Thanks for stopping!! Gay x

Rudolph day !!

Hi there everyone,  I'm getting in quick before they cut me off:0) A quick post for Rudolph day at Sarn's
I'm a bit late but feel it's probably better late than never LOL

This little Santa is a lot of fun, I love the whole idea of "you have to be good for pressies!!"
Talk about bribery and corruption LOL. Santa was coloured in copics and Diamond glaze added to the lights, hope you like!

I hope to be back soon, Gay x

I used a stamp from a company that's ceased trading for the Santa and the lights are from Stamps by Judith.

OLW 80 and awful internet !!

Hi there everybody, I am fed up!! I've had no internet since Friday and basically it's driven me nuts although I got a lot more done LOL
I hope you are having a great weekend:0)
Over at Susan's blog Simplicity she has set us a challenge that goes like this,

 OLW80 Rules

1. A one-layer card is defined as a single layer of card stock folded in half. No other layers allowed.

2. Use two colors PLUS two images PLUS masking. Sentiments, if included, must be in one of the two colors.

3. Keep embellishments to a minimum.

4. Upload your card somewhere on the internet and then link to it using the InLinkz tool on the sidebar of Simplicity!

5. Most importantly, HAVE FUN!!!

Well I had a go and I had fun. There's just one cat on the stamp sheet so I used my brayer to do the mirror image and on this card it's not immediately obvious that it needed masking but I wanted a background so I masked the little cats, you can just see the shape through the post its, I just had a thought......fancy if they made transparent post its now wouldn't that be grand???

I hope to post my Rudolph day card a little later, if we still have internet :0) Sorry Sandra, I'm late!!!
And I'm going to try and visit, you have left me so many lovely comments, Thanks so much,. Gay xx

I used
Stamps by Paper Smooches, Chubby Chums.

Edited to say, I will probably not be around much , my connection is dreadful and on Tuesday will be switched off completely,. So Wednesday BT come ( if we're lucky!!) To connect us again for the telephone but not to their internet that won't be for 1 maybe even 2 weeks but by then we're off for a holiday break! It may be quite a while till I get back to see you again, don't forget me folks LOL

A little vintage shabby?

Hello and welcome to Saturday here on my blog and also at the Craft Barn, we have been a bit vintagy! I have attempted, vintage and simple? Well I tried LOL

I had a lot of fun doing this card, I love taking cards to the bare minimum and here I hoped to suggest vintage rather than show it and these dies are just brilliant! A lot of detail around the edge suggests a doily, to me :0)
This next card is using one of the motif dies from the same Spellbinders set . I'm totally hooked on these lovely shapes. All the details of these cards are on the Craft Barn blog and the stuff I used is available at the Craft Barn online
Thanks for stopping to have a look, I hope you have a wonderful weekend, Gay xx
p.s Still having massive problems with my internet so I may have to rely on some scheduled posts and I hope you will forgive me if I can't respond. Rest assured I will be back! Said in good  'ol Arnie fashion LOL!

More Die Cutting?

Hello and welcome, I hope you've had a great weekend. Today I have made a card for LIM 55 which is all about
                               Punches or Die Cuts

I've been stamping and spraying and cutting all afternoon, loads of fun! I really enjoy the LIM challenges, all clean and simple, just fun:0) The shimmer just doesn't show, the light was very difficult today, bright sunshine (whooppee!!) made for too much contrast and my poor camera couldn't cope :{

Right, Thank you for visiting my blog! I'm now off to have something to eat and when I come back I hope that I will have better service from my Interenet provider because it's been pants all day long and has taken me forever to do this post this evening, I am very hungry now! Hopfully  I'll be at your blog soon and checking out your wonderful creations :0) Here's wishing you a brilliant week, Gay x

I used:
Mini Tattered Flowers, Movers and Shapers, Tim Holtz
Sentiment from PTI
Hero Arts Stencil Flower
Cosmic Shimmer Mist Pearl Mist  and  the smallest amount of Golden Mint!
I bought mine at the Craft Barn

Update, Monday Evening;
I have tried the whole day to connect to the internet and have had no luck till tonight, I'm sorry  I will try and visit soon, Thanks for all your lovely comments.

We are going to change our internet provider and face 1 or two weeks without internet service and perhaps loosing our telephone number. At home here we are  so fed up with the service we are getting a sacrifice may be called for! What the big companies don't explain when you leave BT is that to get a BT line (which we need for another provider)  an engineer has to come to your house and physically reconnect you. That can be expensive and of course you have to join a queue! Oh I'm so sorry for the rant but I needed to get that off my chest.
Now I'm off to catch up and I really hope my connection stays live TTFN Gay x

OLW 79 Stamp, stamp, stamp!

Good morning to you, I'm glad that you've stopped here:0)

I have been playing in my craft room again and made a card for the Simplicity Challenge that is OLW, This week it's at Jennifer's and the  challenge in Jennifer's own words is,

"The challenge this week is to make a one-layer card using as many different stamps as you can. You must use at least three;  more is better!"

I used Gel-a-tins, Chocolate stamps and a little Inkadinkadoo clear stamp, Chocolate Therapy.

I make the count for stamps here to be 7 different in total Yay !! This was fun, see you later, Gay x

LIM 54 Crikey! One layer and Stripes!

Hi folks, After a weekend with hardly any internet I'm so happy to be back up and running today. I hope your weekend was a good one?

It was so sad this weekend to learn of Whitney Houston's untimely death, the world is a poorer place without her fabulous singing. We are loosing so many of our shining talents.

I have made a card for the LIM 54Challenge which this week is for a one layer card withstripes.
I thought you might like to see how it was masked to achieve this stripy look so I included the photos of the process, The image was stamped in two colours of Versafine, Onyx black and vintage Sepia and then more depth of colour with copics.

A card for a chap, I'm practising and by golly I need it LOL Men's cards are difficult for me. Hope you have a great day, TTFN xx
I used:
Stamp by Paper Artsy, Gentleman plate 1
Stripes stamp by Impression Obsession, Thin Stripes Cover a Card

Modelling?

Good morning, I hope you're having a good morning!
Yep that's right, we've been modelling, at the Craft Barn LOL Using modelling products that is.
My first project is a ceramic frame. I used Modrock, which is  plaster of paris on a bandage! I dipped the Modrock in water to moisten then moulded into the shape of  waves which I painted and bingo.......... 3D movement on my frame, loads of fun :0)
Here I've used a photograph of my grand daughter having a moment at the beach LOL

Next, and for the first time ever, I have used Pardo jewellery clay. It's lovely stuff, so easy to use just like fimo but the colours and effects are similar to what you would find in jewellery.  Mine was Mother of Pearl  (white with a subtle sheen) Onyx (black) with Glitter.

I made some cufflinks. More examples of modelling at the Craft Barn blog and all the products I used are at the Craft Barn website
and on the blog The little jewellery box is on the website too! Here

It was great to branch out and try something new and although a bit daunting at first I'm glad I had a bash. Here the design on the onyx cufflinks is the impression from the top of an embossing pen, it had nice even ridges, you can just about make it out on the pic.

Thank you for stopping by, have a wonderful weekend, Gay xxx

p.s don't forget the AJ challenge on the Craft Barn blog it's all good fun and closes on the 25th Feb, Good Luck:0)

4. The most important rule of all is to HAVE FUN!
!!

Metal and Acetate? Yes please!

Hi folks, me again:0) Some cards for the Craft Barn's metal and acetate focus this week. More inspiration from my team mates on the BLOG
Acetate is a bit of a challenge to photograph:0)
A DL card from a sheet of 12 x 12 acetate, using Tim Holtz Dies and EF and copics to colour
and another acetate card, TH dies and EF again this time with KatzKraft stamps, love the little angel writing he's cute!

You should be able to make the pics bigger if you click on them.

The back was difficult because everything was visible,  I covered the brads with card candy so that they matched.

Then I made a card with the KatzeKraft stamps and metal, I loved making this card!!!

The little guy reading is an absoloute delight and I love the sentiment, it's just so right!

Update; I just noticed on Hotmail it's National Libraries day, lucky coincidence :0)
I hope you liked my cards, more details on the Craft Barn Blog and I hope you have a wonderful Saturday, Gay x
