Shoes!

Hello there, A quick post from me today, up to my eyes in schtuff LOL Mr Peplow has decided he's emptying the loft and has deposited it pretty much all over the house arrggghhh!!!!
This card is for LIM, Chrissie and Jen gave us a picture prompt from Pinterest for this week's challenge!

OOh it's leaning a little, sorry LOL! Too much Champagne, hic!

I used an old stamp, from way back, I don't know where it's from and I only have the rubber, so no way of finding out. If you know could you possibly let me know ? Then I can give credit.
Her dress was originally animal stripes so I gave it a make over! I have very few shoe stamps and hope that I'm not too far from the picture's inspiration :D

 I just love a bit of bling, it makes me smile. Now off to sort out a blooming mess :{
Thanks for stopping by, hugs Gay x

Matt or Shiny?

Now that is the question?
Hello and welcome, today I have a contribution to the Craft Barn's 'Opposites' week. There will be inspiration galore this week on the blog, do join us if you can!

I made three pictures and I really enjoyed getting all painty.
Pop over to the CB blog for the lowdown ( :D ) on how I changed/ decorated the frames. The outside frames are metallic and really shiny and the recesses are dark and matt, this absorbs light, an effect that I find fascinating :D

I have been a bit busy this last week we had a lovely reunion at home with some of my family from Australia it was a lot of fun :D
Thank you for stopping by, hugs Gay x

This is what I used,

Life is a beach?

Hi folks, I hope you have enjoyed a lovely weekend and the rain here in the UK hasn't spoilt  it for you! We had a lot of rain overnight here in the south but today has been absolutely glorious!
Over at Karen's blog Snippets the challenge for OLW ( One Layer Wednesday) is, in Karen's own words,
"Create a card that depicts the beach or is water inspired.  Add a link to your card.  Remember to
keep embellishments to a minimum and NO ADDITIONAL LAYERS of cardstock."
My card is using stamps from Sheena Douglass 'Seaside' I've had these particular stamps for quite a while and this is their first inking but I thought they fitted with the theme rather well :D
Same card different background! I also used my Inktense pencils, woah! I really like these pigment heavy pencils, you don't realise how rich they are until you add the water, POW soo inky.
Thank you for dropping by, Gay x
p.s My sentiment stamp is by Lindsay Mason, 'Love that Binds'

Flowers, lovely flowers

Hi everyone, Hope you are well and happy and if not, I hope you are very soon :D
I have been busy making cards again, two today, for LIM where Chrissie and Jen have asked for some handmade flowers

First card is with an old Cuttlebug flower die, two cuts layered out of printed vellum with small disks of white card to lighten on the black card base. Hand drawn stems and vellum leaves, the waste from this next card,

With this card again I used die cuts from the Cuttlebug  multi shape die. The centre is another die cut in red mirri card with a small gem! TH Remnant rubs, they are so useful for sentiments!

Thank you for looking today, hugs Gay x
Back tomorrow with my Craft Barn make, BFN x

Not Square?

Hi there welcome here,
Noo definitely not a square, that is the challenge at LIM this week, not a rectangle either and cards are to be one layer :D. Thinking cap time.

I made two versions because the first ( and paler of the two below) didn't go as well as I had hoped, I messed her eyes up, this ( the darker version above) is better around the eyes but I messed her hat up LOL!

This shows how I masked the hat for the texture, I hoped it would look like the hat was woven. I repeatedly stamped the tiny dots with Adirondak Sandal ink using the stamp in my hand not on a block. This way I could control not only the amount of ink but where the dots were, I liked the way by changing direction when stamping I made a pattern which is different on both cards.
As you can see the shaded area around her eyes is too much and the wrong shape but I think I need to get some finer drawing pencils, for definition. Copics are really great but doing very fine strokes I find challenging. Water colour pencils have a grainy texture, again not wonderful for getting really fine detail.
 I used;
Suzi Blu stamp La Belle
Woodware, Singles, Tiny Dots from The Craft Barn
PTI sentiments

Don't miss out........ because over at the Craft Barn ..........
It's a freebie!  From 6pm Friday until 6pm on Monday all orders over £25 will receive a free pack of Tando minis in their delivery.

We're back from our travels and had a brilliant time. The weather was great and it was a very interesting place, Symonds Yat in the Wye Valley, Herefordshire. We walked and ate and thoroughly enjoyed our time there.

Shades of Grey

Hi folks, Phew it's a bit of a hottie today :D Hope you enjoy it as much as I do!
Today I have a card for LIM where the challenge set by Chrissie and Jen is for Shades of Grey! Right up my alley I have to admit and I did have fun making this one,

The light is going this evening but it's been a fabulous day. What with Murray winning at Wimbledon (YIPPEEE!) and hot sunny weather, we've never had it so good :D

My card was stamped with Woodware, Clear magic Singles Tiny Dots, I used acrylic  black and white paint and mixed the shades I wanted. Some Tim Holtz Remnant Rubs and a little silver gilding flakes on a piece of double sided tape to finish.

I hope you like it and thank you for stopping by.
I shall be away for just a little while, exploring this beautiful country we live in, looks like we might have lovely weather for a change too, can't wait :D x

Hellooo

Hi folks, I hope all is good in your part of the world :D

Over here at Wimbledon Murray made it to the semis, yes!!! Weather is set to be fine for a while and next week I'm off for a few days R&R Yippee!!!

So I have a couple of cards to share, my owl card is for a lovely young lady whooooo is moving on with her job and I wanted to wish her well :D
Check out the mooving eyes LOL I used an Andy Skinner mask Owls

This next card is for LIM where it's a lucky dip week! Chrissie and Jen have challenged us with one word, SAND in honour of Hannelie's GD for this week, well done Hannelie!

My choice of stamp is this little cutie wistfully gazing out to sea. I can remember from my childhood how magical it is at the sea-side, watching the salty waves gently lapping onto the beach, seagulls keening above Ahhhhh! Nothing to do, just daydream away..................................
Thank you for stopping for a while, if you say "Hi" I will do my best to visit you soon, Gay x
I used,
