Hello! 2 new challenges 4 me! And an awardYay!

Hello to you my crafty friends,
I made a card using Stampotique images using the Quail cube again, just love the little birdies. I also used a Spellbinders border die the Fleur di lis  I can see that I'm going to use this a lot, love the shape of it.

This is my first entry for the Stampotique Designers challenge and also for Move Along With The Times challenge.

The Stampotique requirement is a sketch  this time and Move Along with the Times is 'Anything Goes'

So I'm hoping I've fulfilled all the necessary conditions:~D

Then I was given an award by a very lovely crafty lady Jenny her very interesting and inspirational blog is HERE  Jenny is a talented lady and does lots of different crafts, card making, scrap booking and she takes a mean photo too, check her out :0) xxx
Thank you Jenny for this award and your really kind words, you are a star!
I am supposed to tell you 5 things about myself, well I did this last year and here is the confessional, you need a warning though, you're not gonna like me after this, I'm a BAD mum!Actually I've mentioned 7 things, I could erase my worst sins but nah it's a warts and all expose, bite the bullet mustavcoffee!
Now I'm also supposed to give this award to 5 more versatile bloggers but I've found that many people don't want to or haven't got the time or for whatever reason do not participate so if I may, I would like to offer this to

Esther at Crafty Effusions gorgeous creations and multi talented lady

Tejal at Creative Expressions wonderful crafting from the floor! but seriously Tejal creates beautiful cards, gift books and has a passion for butterflies:0)

Sylvia-Anne at Poppy's Papercraft Patch, beautiful creations and such a warm welcome every visit.

Sandra at Stamping for Pleasure So much fun with this lovely lady, she often makes me LOL and does fabulous cards, always well worth a visit.

And Last but not least  Mass of Hair at her blog So Much to Learn I love her enthusiasm and great humour in her creations, we all have so much to learn and we never stop doing so but I love that she uses that as her blog title, fantastic.

Thanks Ladies, so much inspiration but please don't feel you have to participate, it's good to give you a shout out :0) xxx

OLW 50 deserving another effort, methinks!

Simplicity has had 50 challenges so far and I wanted to have a second go at Susan's challenge, which is to dust off an old stamp and show it some ink and some lurve.................and make a Thank You card.

I loved colouring this with my Copics, had a small problem with the background, getting it to fade is not as easy as it looks. What doesn't help is the fact that I can't leave it alone just when it looks finished I go and fiddle, I'm sure you know what I mean :0)

I did use some glitter on her outfit it's very subtle , black diamond Stickles, you can just see it in this pic, if you screw your eyes up and pretend okay?

Well I have the builders arriving back in the morning, I think I must go and clear the decks. I'll be up early and making tea like it's going out of fashion, again, LOL.
I hope you have a great week:0)

Stamp, Hampton Art, Tea Time
Sentiment, Penny Black, Kindness

Stamp a new purchase from the Stamp Attic it's a cube called Quail cube
by Janet Klein. They are just so cute!
Coloured with copics
Sentiment from Hobby Art

Well I didn't get far with the tidying in fact I made it worse, such is the life of a mad stamper LOL
Have fun :0) xxx

Latest photo of my 3yr old Grand daughter, she said 'help I'm stuck' and had to be pulled out, the things they get up to!!!! LOL

Edited to add,
A couple of folks have asked what was she doing, well I'm not sure because I wasn't there but one of  her favourite games is hide and seek so I guess she could have been hiding, needs practice methinks LOL!

Less is More 12, A Recipe!

Hello there all, I hope you're having a great holiday weekend whatever the weather.
I made a card for the Less is More challenge

This week is a recipe
  OFF CENTRE
We are looking for cards with little or no symmetry but perfect balance, which doesn't necessarily mean gems in all four corners, or any corners for that matter.

Well,  I've been searching all day for the right stamp to use and finally chose this because I've never used it successfully before, fingers crossed this time:0)
I may just have to have another stab at this one, have fun TTFN :0)

The morning after......................................
Just thought I'd add a picture of the mess I left, I was posting at 1.30am, ridiculous!!!! it's even worse on the floor, better get it sorted now ! LOL

Stamp of lady in chair, Inky Antics by Monica Lee, called 'On the phone' appropriately enough!
Background trees by Memory Box, Swirly tree border
Text stamps, Darcie's 'Shell We Celebrate?' And Printworks 'Small Tag Lines'

One Layer Wednesday 50, WOW!

Simplicity challenge number 50 today is all about our old stamps. Wide spread influence for this one, lots of scope to hang myself LOL..........

OLW50 Rules

1. A one-layer card is defined as a single piece of cardstock folded in half. No other layers allowed.

2. Pull out an old stamp that hasn't seen ink in a while, and make a thank you card with it! Remember to keep embellishments to a minimum.

3. Post your card somewhere on the internet and link to it using the InLinkz button on the sidebar of Simplicity.

4. Most important rule of all: HAVE FUN!

Well I did have fun but you should see the mess I made, the rooms totally upside down, that was trying to find the right stamp, after all that I hope it's the right one? mmm bit of a disembodied head thing going on Oh dear! :0)

Congratulations to Susan and Jennifer you made  it to 50 and I've enjoyed it so much, Thank you very much,  great thoughtful challenges each and every one. I joined in for the first time back on number 11 here is my card I started with a funny card, it made me laugh anyway!!

Stamps used
Sweet Grass stamp from here
Sentiment stamp from Inkadinkadoo, Brenda Walton, Hearts and Love
Coloured with Copics

Work on the house progresses well and my help is not required. He!he!he! never let that stop me before. I jest.......... I wouldn't interfere but it sounds funny, so I like saying it!

Have fun everyone, hope that you have a wonderful holiday weekend, :0) xxx

LIM 11, Acetate Number 2 :0)

Hi there, Happy Monday to you. We've had a warm sunny day, lots of flowers bursting into bloom and trees blossoming all over the place, anyone would think it was spring:0)

My lovely builders came today 3/4hr early, whoops, I wasn't quite ready for them but to be honest they told me 9.30am and turned up at the door at 8.45 a girl needs more leway than that, surely!!!! Any way I did grab some time away from making umpteen cups of tea and whilst they were busily banging and drilling away I had another attempt at an acetate card.

Oh! my goodness, have I had fun! A lot of paper and card in the bin but my first and only die cut from the acetate went on the final  card. I think I was being a little ambitious, the Tim Holtz die is big, this card is nearly 5ins square and it virtually fills it. I tried all sorts of arrangements but ended up CAS, which is really what the challenge is all about at Less is More I have coloured the weathered clock face with Copics and glittered with Stickles.
The sentiment is from Whimsy Stamps
I popped the die cut out by using gel glue and it sits quite proud of the card which is why there are shadows on the first pic.

I really love hearing from everyone and would like to thank you all for your brilliant support, it really does help to know there's someone out there, as keen/ loopy as me, TTFN :0)

Edited; I have tried many times to leave comments for Monika and now KatheD, I'm sad because it tells me I'm spam:{ Sorry Ladies and thank you so much for your comments:0) xxx

LIM 11, Acetate, OH Yeah!

Well hello, I hope all is well with you?

Chrissie and Mandi over at the Less is More Challenge have decided it's time we got our acetate out and had a bit of a play, I certainly had to think about this one, I'm notoriously messy and acetate and I, well I tried to keep it clean, honest!

I haven't stamped at all this time, just cut out some little birds and the motif from a sheet of  acetate that was printed and glittered. Tiny bling for eyes. It certainly took longer to think about than execute:0)

We had some brilliant news and are in a good place right now.  My son's got the job that he interviewed for back in January, phew! it's been a long wait but he's finally heard that it's his, so smiles all around today. Good to get some happy news.
We are having some workmen in the house for a couple of weeks so I might find it a bit difficult to get online quite so often, so if I'm not around quite as much please bear with me I will be here as much as I can.
Have a great day my crafty friends

Paper from Little Yellow Bicycle, Bird Song ( bought at the Ally Pally show, and I found it very hard to cut into it, I only had the one!)
Glittered Acetate sheet from Kanban.
Edited to add, Monika I'm sorry I've tried to reply to your comment but it keeps telling me I'm spam, LOL and I can't leave a comment for you I'm sorry, :0)

LIM 10, no. 2. Lets have another go!

Hi and welcome here.
This is effort number 2.

The Less is More challenge this week is great and I'm loving playing around with sentiments and pictures. the sentiment has to be the most prominent.

I stamped this card and cut a border with a Martha Stewart punch but I feel it's probably a bit fussy.

So I stamped it more simply
Now I don't know which I prefer. Do you have a preference?

For this second card I faded out the edge of the background stamp because I feel it ends too abruptly.

Background stamp by Elusive images (now Chocolate Baroque)
Penny Black sentiment.
Versamark Brilliance ink, Pearlescent Beige.
Sentiment stamped with Archival ink coffee.

Thank you so much for stopping by and leaving comments, I love reading them all :0) xxx

Clean the house, make a card?Clean the house, make a card?Clean the house, make a card?Clean the house, make a card?

No contest!
Green and Pink and never seen ink!!!!!

Today's  OLW number 49 is at Jennifer's blog. Pop over and check it out, so much fun and Jennifer has some brilliant cards for you to peruse, great inspiration:0)
OLW Rules for this challenge;
1. A one-layer card is defined as a single piece of cardstock folded in half.
2. Make a one-layer card using a never been inked stamp and the colours green and pink.
(there are more but these are the relevant ones)

I found this a bit of a challenge because my new stamps itch to be inked so I had to look for sets with a small overlooked stamp waiting to be inked. There really weren't many! Hence the size of the card! I masked the tiny pig and stamped over with the background stars.
I hope you have a brilliant day, it's so chilly here today, I must address my messy house now, HUMPH :{

I used;
Spellbinders Nesties, Star5, largest die.
SU Very Punny............. eBay purchase!
Banana Frog Superstars ................Yay, on special ATM
Along with Versmark ink pads, Brilliance Aurora and 504 Lollipop

One-Layer Wednesday 48: A Sympathetic Challenge

Hello again from the coffee house, hope you're well today? Are you sitting comfortably, got coffee? It's okay relax this is a short post.
I've made a card for Susan's Simplicity challenge
No one likes to have to make these cards but from time to time we will need them.

OLW48 Rules

1. A one-layer card is defined as a single layer of cardstock folded in half. No other layers allowed.

2. Make a sympathy card that uses an image other than trees or flowers. Remember to keep embellishments to a minimum.

here is my card

Had a bit of trouble getting the sentiment to stamp clearly, this is the second attempt, I can be a bit obsessive, after all it's hand made!
Stamps are;
For the background text an acrylic set Bella Boulevard 'In the Garden' I think, had them a long time.
Papertrey Ink Mat stack 2 .

The sun is shining furiously in the UK today so I'm planning to get out in the garden soon. Hope the sun's with you too, have a lovely day, Bye for Now:0) xxx

LIM9 number 2, :0)

Hi there, I won't waffle on ( just for a change LOL), here's card number 2 for the LIM challenge ( a touch of red)

I've used Paper Artsy , Architecture plate 2 stamp and sentiments from Whimsy Stamps Time Flies

A Cherry Pie stamp for the roundel, which is stamped onto red velumn and then crackled with Tim Holtz Rock Candy and some bling added. It curled horrendously but I managed to tame it by coating the underside with Diamond Glaze, that made it firm, then I stuck it on to the card with Art Glitter dries clear glue, that worked and I could then apply the rock candy.

By using the holographic red behind I hope it's given the roundel some depth.
I hope you like it, I certainly had a lot of fun making it today:0) xxx

Less is More number 9, A little touch of red!

Good day to you fellow crafters, I hope this day finds you well and rested after the jollies of the weekend? Lets have some fun:0)

I've been thinking about this little bit of red challenge over at Less is More and the more I thought the less I wanted to make a card with flowers on, so I didn't but it had been my first choice!
I chose to use a stamp from Sunday International
I'm not sure but I couldn't find them on their website, so they're probably not available anymore, sorry. The little clock laying down is a Cherry Pie stamp.
And that's it apart from a pale warm grey and cadmium red Copics, is all I used.
I just wish this stuff was available wouldn't it be GRAND !
I hope you have a lovely day :0) xxx

p.s I've just remembered (doh!) why I was going to make a card with flowers, it was for St Lukes Charity Cards Challenge  What a drip I am. Still I did eventually remember :{ It's a brilliant cause, have a peek, just click on the name :0)
Now I'm off to make some more cards TTFN :0) xxx

1st Birthday Challenge @ Sir Stampalot hey! hey! hey!

Happy Birthday to the Sir Stampalot Challenge 1 year old today, Many Happy returns. There is a fun challenge going on, pop over and have a look if you have time.

I think I might be a bit psychic because I was working on this card last night, spooky or what?
the challenge is Ladies and Fashion.

Apologies for the background on this pic. I just couldn't get the right light today but fleetingly the sun came out and I grabbed the opportunity and snapped totally forgetting what was behind, oops!

See? this isn't nearly as clear. Ah! well never mind

My card is a stamp by Stamps Happen by Janlynn 5th Avenue, New York Socialite, I got mine on eBay and there are more available  :0)
Papers by Tilda Papercraft and I just love the colours, I bought them at the NEC.
The corners are a Nellies multi frame die.

Have a wonderful weekend  whatever you're planning I hope it's a great one!
