LIM 20 and a surprise visitor or two!

Hi there, the challenge at LIM number 20 is to make a card with a monogram!
Here is what Mandi and Chrissie had to say..............
This week our theme for your cards is
MONOGRAM
monogramDefinition
monogram ( ) n. A design composed of one or more letters, typically the initials of a name, used as an identifying mark.

I made a card:0) I hope the monogram fits the requirement, then I altered it by adding some gems and a small strip of chocolate brown velveteen paper. Not sure it was strictly necessary but I wanted to :0)

I used the Stamping Up Engraved Greetings stamp.
WithVersa color ink pad, 503 Limone
And  PTI die Mat Stack 2
I also used the new Impression Obssesion Stamp Cover a card, I've always wanted to be able to do candy stripes without having to buy DP and now I can, yippeee!!! There are so many different options I may have to save up, I love all the different textures!

 Look who came visiting on Thursday morning about 5.30 am, they've been nibbling our roses, and now the roses are all gone, none left at all :{

Apologies for reflection of flash in the window, I think the deer was as surprised as me but it didn't run, just sauntered off around to the front garden where it left and went on it's way.
I live in a town and certainly didn't expect to see this beautiful creature in my back garden. The previous week it was the stag deer, he had little straight horns, I didn't get him on camera though. I think I was really lucky to see these visitors and it's so good that we now know who's been nibbling the flowers, LOL

  3. How fun to deer-watch in your own yard...if only they wouldn't eat your roses!
Love today's card -- what a fun take on the "monogram" theme!

  4. Hi Gay
Both cards are fab but i prefer the one without the ribbon but with the gems. Gorgeous colours and design.
Love your most unusual visitor, glad you had a snack on hand but shame your roses are without flowers...
    Take care:-)

  5. Beautiful card, Gay! Love that frame and the colors are beautiful! I must say, I think I like it better without the ribbon. For me the ribbon splits the image and doesn't flow as well...probably just me...it is late and I'm getting tired! LOL!

  6. Oh my gosh, I had NO idea that deer ate roses?! What a surprise in many ways. LOL

Your card is amazing, Gay! I LOVE how the sentiment fits so nicely into the mat stack die and for you to make an oval around that is so clever. I absolutely love the design of your card!

  7. I actually prefer the card without the black stripe Gay. It's such a clean looking card, the gems look great however.
What fabulous pictures of your visitors. You did so well too capture them on film as they're often gone in a flash.
    Shame about the roses though!
    Thanks so much

  10. Oh Gay what a beautiful visitor!
Your card is FAB, the HB is perfect monogram and the fact that they arent part of the happy birthday words makes them fine, I say!
    Thank you so much

  19. I love the stamp but agree with the others that the version without the ribbon just seems to flow better. I can never resist the urge to "add" though either :-)

  22. Love both cards Gay, but prefer the one without the ribbon. How special to have visitors like that in your garden - it sort of makes up for the absence of roses. Lynn x

  26. Both cards are equally lovely. I often recreate a card an add something different. I,too, need to look into that pinstripe stamp.
A deer! The wildlife in our garden is restricted to the usual birds, snails and a hedgehog, with the occasional visit from the local heron that steals the fish from our pond.

  32. I love the way you've used this stamp set and although I'm a CAS girl, I prefer it with both ribbon and gems! Your deer pic reminds me of one Sunday morning when we looked up from our breakfast to see a herd of cows in our garden! We didn't have many flowers left after that either! Vx

  33. Fab colours - and I prefer it with the ribbon ! and WOW - a deer, we do see them out and about a bit here as we're fairly rural, but never that close...just the occasional fox for us! Esther xx

  34. I love you card and the monogram is so clever. I don't know if you know, MAC, but first and third Thursdays Impression Obsession has a challenge where you have to use at least one of their stamps. There is a drawing for $25 at their online store. You have an IO stamp and should play along if you want! Hope you week is going great!

  35. I love the colors in this card, and I like the HB as a monogram for happy birthday. Beautiful.

Over here, the deer eat my roses, too. Along with the raspberries, peas, and plenty of other flowers. This year I've resorted to spraying deer-off. Seems to be working as my roses have some nice new growth!
