I was busily working away on my beauty sleep at 3am on Saturday morning when hubby said to me
" I think we may have a problem" he's a bit prone to understatement! So I hopped out of bed and he flew up into the loft and I flew downstairs.
This was what greeted me, actually that's not quite true I took this photo after we had pushed through a hole in the ceiling to let the water out, many buckets and mops later,
this was the picture, cold wet toes, LOL
quickly followed by this.
Oh dear, what a mess. We have had the plumber back and he found a broken connector, the shower pump had kicked in and emptied the whole tank into the new bathroom wall and downstairs into the sitting room, which you see here stripped of everything we could move out.
So I'm busily washing curtains and generally sorting out as best I'm able. The wallpaper's had it, so has the rug and the whole room will need decorating if we can get it dry!
I did get the opportunity to make a card, actually I needed a ruby wedding anniversary card, not so brilliant but under the circumstances I think it's not too bad ooeerrr!!
So it's a rather damp post from coffee towers this weekend but it'll dry, given time, I hope?
I hope your weekend has been better:0)
I used TH Grunge numbers and PTI stamp for the circle with a Waltzingmouse sentiment.
I'm hoping to have a go at the LIM challenge soon:0) x
'Oh What a Night' springs to mind!!
ReplyDeleteBut if you look on the bright side - you'll be newly decorated for Christmas.
Hope you get put straight soon - and a great card in such circumstances.
Hugs Avril x
What a horrible shock for you Gay! Bad enough during the day but in the middle of the night everything seems so much worse. Hope your new bathroom isn't ruined and that you can get yourself straight before Christmas!

ReplyDeleteOh good grief....what a nightmare Gay! It's not the best time of year for drying things out either!!!
ReplyDeleteHow can you produce such a gorgeous card under all this stress too? My parents 40th today, glad I didn't have to make a card in those conditions!!!
Jenny x
In all that hectic you MADE a CARD...wow,,,respect girl:) Iknow what you are feeling as our whirlpool EXPLODED last year,,,yes, it was lovely but you know all about that...the only consolation was all this water you show pictures of in your house was running from the ceiling into our laudry room....so no "real" room was damaged but it was also between the walls in the laundry room and running from the ceiling LIKE A WATERFALL........the joys of when a pipe or something explodes that has anything to do with WATER....then there was the time when the city guys dammed up all the water mains cause they were building up the street...new development,,,and DIDN`T tell ANYONE and eventually we all had WATER coming in through our washing machines FROM OUTSIDE...again the laundry room...so my thoughts are with you and your lovely mess...good luck!!
ReplyDeleteoh yeah,,,your card is gorgeous:)

ReplyDeleteOh no! What a mess! That happened to us at the library once. Water was pouring from the ceiling all over the children's non-fiction! We were really scrambling to save what we could. I'm glad you got to "chill" enough to make a lovely card! It's just perfect for the ruby anniversary.

horrible! My sister once stated running a bath, forgot about it, and before we knew it the bathroom was a swimming pool and downstairs was becoming one too! turns out there was an existing leak, but that finished it off, it's a nightmare to sort, but at least you have a good excuse to go and choice pretty wallpapers and decorating things! (As long as you have someone else to do the hard work putting it all up!) Hope you get it sorted!
