We want you to use a
RUBBER STAMP
In addition if you could use watercolours that would be wonderful!
My card is using a stamp by Impression Obsession, it is one of my faves but it is just a little bit large for what I wanted to do this time. So I trimmed it! Long ago when I started stamping I used to panic at the thought of cutting into a stamp, it seemed wrong somehow I would tremble with fear but now I cut with relish . You can always put them back together on the acrylic block!
This is how I trimmed the image. My sentiment came on a piece of velum and I can't remember where it's from :( I glued it directly to the card and luckily it doesn't show the glue. My background is painted with water colour and stamped behind then stamped again on the water coloured paper I decoupaged a few of the leaves just to add dimension. You can see more detail if you click on the pics.

Those colours are so beautiful! Love the size of your card! And trim a stamp? Did it and was shaken the furst time, but if you think it through, you know when you leave it you won´t use it often... Inky and sunny greetings, Gerrina

ReplyDeleteFabulous card and the stamp looks fantastic against the colourful background! Love it on that tall card!
ReplyDeleteHI Gay ! Love your card, such a great design. The watercolouring in the background is beautiful and sets of the leaf image very well. Great idea to trim the stamp and you are right, you can put it together on a block anyways! Genius! I hope you are doing well, Thanks for stopping by today:) Shirleyxx
ReplyDeleteHi Gay those silhouette leaves look wonderful against your watercolour background, reminds me of a beautiful sunset:)

So beautiful - especially your background!
ReplyDeleteHi there Gay!
ReplyDeleteWhat a stunning card for LIM - and what a rascal you are for trimming a stamp down :) It's never crossed my mind to do that, I just mask off the excess part of a stamp before inking and then remove the Post it or whatever. Snort, I'll be sitting here waving the scissors in the morning - there are some stamps I'd happily trim down.
Hugs, Di xx
I love your tall card, Gay. I also love the effect of your watercolouring which is such a lovely backdrop for your stamped and decoupaged leaves. Beautifully created! x
ReplyDeleteYou have such a great eye for design, Gay! By taking off that one section, we are able to see more of your spectacular sky behind the silhouette! Brillz!!
ReplyDeleteThis is lovely Gay. Will have to try the stamp trimming - should think that it is a bit daunting the first time!
ReplyDeleteThanks so much for visiting me - very much appreciated:)
