Here she comes :0)

You'd better watch out Smushallaum has got a new pair of wings folks
Hi and welcome to my Stampotique Guest designer card, I have been facinated by Daniel Torrente's wierd and wonderful characters for years now, this was an ideal opportunity for me to use one of my favourites!
Sorry Sarn!!! :0)
I apologise for the play on words, not very clever but it tickled my fancy, snigger LOL
Smushallaum has been given new wings and has left the water, heaven knows how much havoc she will cause! She is rightly proud of her wings they have new shiny bits;0)
I coloured her with Dylusions inks, fabulous colours but I have smothered microglaze (clear matt professional wax that protects invisibly) all over her to protect the inks from light. Having spent a while painting her I don't want the elements to take anything away:0)
Thanks for stopping by, Gay xxx

Fabric on my card!

Hello there, Welcome here and to Saturday and my post for the Craft Barn! This week we have been using fabric, it's been great seeing all the different takes on this idea on our blog. This is my interpretation
I used the fabric all around the edge and also a small square to stamp onto. The fabric had a pinked edge I wanted the pinking to show at the edge of the canvas. My pinking shears are blunt so I had to use 4 of the pieces of fabric from the pack but just managed to get around before I ran out:0)
Stamping onto fabric is the same as stamping onto card really but I used Stazon just in case, I didn't want it to lift in the sun, or the design to spread. The beads are sewn on, a very rare occurance on this blog LOL I was pleased how they jangled and swung. The fabric was easy to distress/fray at the edges to give texture on the panel.
Thank you for stopping by to check it out, have a great weekend, Gay xx

Just thought I'd share a little joke my sister sent to me this morning, you may have heard it before but it makes me smile, have a lovely day my friends, I will be back tomorrow with my Craft Barn Make

The Silent Treatment
A man and his wife were having some problems at home

and were giving each other the silent treatment.

Suddenly, the man realized that the next day, he would need his wife to wake him

at 5:00 AM for an early morning business flight.

Not wanting to be the first to break the silence (and LOSE), he wrote on a piece of paper,

'Please wake me at 5:00 AM .'
He left it where he knew she would find it.
The next morning, the man woke up, only to discover it was 9:00 AM
and he had missed his flight Furious, he was about to go and see why his wife hadn't wakened him,
when he noticed a piece of paper by
the bed.
The paper said, 'It is 5:00 AM . Wake up..'

Men are not equipped for these kinds of contests.

Stampotique in a world all her own

Hello my crafty friends,
I have once more been playing and this is for the Stampotique Designers challenge , where the challenge is to use at least one Stampotique sentiment.

My card is inside a recycled acetate box, it is contained but it's not fixed so I may change the whole scene if I get the fancy:0) The scene is done in layers with alcohol inks onto acetate and stamped with the spider wings stamp for the mountains. The Angel has a dress made of mica flakes it is very sparkly!

Check out the challenge, have a go, it's great fun with these wonderful and quirky stamps
I used
A world all her own

A very quick OLW card

I'm sooo late for this one but I have been pretty busy, well that's my excuse anyway!!

Susan over at Simplicity challenged us nearly a week ago to make a card with stars and stripes, in honour of American Independance day. I have made a card with somes stripes and a star,

I did a little research online to find out about hearts and wings and found a website, a tattoist actually but it made some sense of the symbolism involved if you're interested HERE
So peace, love and freedom to you all, :0) Gay xxx

I used
Heart and wings stamp from 7 Gypsies
Tim Holtz stripes
copics and distress to colour

A Golden LIM

Hello there crafty friends, at last I have a card for LIM, I'm so glad to join in this week:0)
Today I have been watching the tennis, the men's final at Wimbledon but I find I can't watch it all, I get too worked up LOL Have you been watching, are you enjoying it?   So lots of small breaks to do this post, it's taken about 3hours so far LOL

The challenge laid down by Chrissie and Mandi is to use something GOLDEN as it's a colour challenge this week.

My central image is stamped on to really shiny golden paint, onto foam pads to raise it up. the key is cut from a die in holographic card and then aged with stazon in black and brown. I love the effect of Stazon on holographic card it's semi-translucent if you're gentle with it and leaves the colour to shine through. There are golden micro beads on her heart too!

So there's mine!
I'm off to finish watching the match through my fingers and then I'm coming to check out your golden cards:0)
Have a wonderful week my friends, Gay xxx

UPDATE, Oh noo, poor Murray, big lump in my throat and a tear in my eye, it wasn't meant to be this year:{ You've got to admire Federer he is a consumate professional and a tennis artist!

I used,
Paper Artsy Lynne Perrella
Oxford Impressions, London Telegraph
Marianne Creatables Key
I bought mine at the Craft Barn.

Art impressions

Hello and welcome,
Another Saturday is upon us Yippee! This week all the Design Team at the Craft Barn have been using the Art Impressions stamps, I think they're really quite funny!
I love the images and the quotes are fun.

Here is my art impressions card, she's a little scary!! You wouldn't want to argue with her LOL Bet there aren't many nurses like her anymore, (you know pushy LOL)I certainly didn't meet any on my last visit, thank heavens :0)

Thank you for stopping by, Gay xxx

A twinchie or two for me :0)

Hi Folks I'm back again,  :0)
I found it hard to resist doing the Show us your Twinchies challenge LOL A piece of art work 2" by 2" oooh that sounds like fun to me, so I made three LOL

I cut and layered for this perfume label, coloured with copics. Can you see the deliberate (not ) mistake? Ooops!
The background of all these twinchies was with Distress inks and picket fence stain swirled on my craft mat.

This one has Diamond glaze on the bottles :0)
I thoroughly enjoyed being able to choose my subject. I don't usually do girly things like perfume so it's been great fun:0)
and this one has a flower cut up and layered, I used the whole flower there's not one tiny bit left LOL
Click on the images to enlarge them.
Thank you for looking,  Gay xxx

I used
Crafty Individuals stamp CI 341 I bought mine at the Craft Barn

Unique :0)

Hello and welcome:0) Lovely of you to stop by:0)
I have made a card .................

This is my first as a Guest designer at Stampotique. The flowers are a stamp called spider wings they are such an interesting shape. I have many different ways to use them going around my head ( little else but there you go LOL). The little bee is such a cutie, I couldn't resist giving him a bright livery, I think he always hankered after being a jockey if the truth were known!
Inside the card reads 'Just Like you' I suppose that gives a lot of room for the card to be for many events or people LOL

I painted with copics and Dylusions inks.
 I used
Spider wings and Birds and bugs cube

Chunky canvas and some happy news :0)

Hello my crafty friends, Hope you're enjoying the weekend. I've been playing............

I took a chunky canvas, and book page and tore it up to cover the canvas. That page has disappeared under many layers of paints, sprays, dimensional paste, glitter and tissue paper.

Now it looks like this:0). The butterfly's have been stamped onto tissue and painted then added to the canvas. I love how there was no loss of stamping detail. I'm a little obsessed with chunky canvasses lately and love it when I'm able to take the image around the whole of the canvas. So when it's hanging up on the wall I can see some of the design from any angle! That makes me  happy  LOL!

I do have some brilliant news to share :0) I have been given a month to play with Stampotique stamps, how lucky is that??? A whole month as a Guest Designer , I could hardly believe it when Kim invited me, Yippee, I was so pleased! My first offering will be on Wednesday next week. Then at the Challenge blog for the next week. Hope I don't mess up :{

The Craft Barn Extravaganza was fab yesterday and I hope to be able to go again today. Loads of inspiration and gorgeous crafting. I was really lucky and met up with Giovanna from Scrap in Progress and Sarn from Stamping for pleasure, what fun we had :0)
So thank you for joining me today, I hope you have a great week and enjoy some tennis and maybe some strawberries, Gay xxx

 I used,
Chunky canvas
Crafters workshop mask
Translucent dimensional paste
Fresco paints
Stampendous Butterflies clear stamps
