Hello there folks, I'm back from my hols and raring to go...........I think :D I hope all is good with you my lovely crafty friends? It has been very changeable weather , we left and the sun was getting warmer and warmer but now I see it went wet again after Sunday, bit of a wash out!!
Well I've had a very quick bash at the one layer challenge at LIM for this week and I'm really rather late, definitely a "Need for Speed"
I know you've seen these stamps before, soorreeeee but no time to choose another now!!!
We've had a great break away from home, a bit of sun, lots of food but just look at what was outside our kitchen window. We were amazed at the beauty of this spectacular flower it was oozing nectar and many gorgeous butterflies visited whilst we were there. I tried to capture them in the photo with no luck :( I'm sure you will know what it is??
To be totally truthful if I hadn't seen the rest of the plant I would have struggled, it is (of course?) a banana plant(tree?)
Edited with big thanks
to Di, of Pixie's Crafty Workshop fame yes it's not a banana flower but a Strelitzia, clever you Di :D
It was growing up through or very close to the banana which had me fooled. Mind you I have never seen one these colours before.
HERE is a link to a picture online.
It's good to be home again, if only it were a little warmer LOL, thank you for visiting, hugs Gay x
p.s, Thank you for all your comments about cards for men whilst I was away. It appears that my menfolk are not that unique in their indifference to cards. Boring eh???? LOL

I'm glad you had a lovely holiday, Gay and it's great to see you back safe and sound, just wish you could have brought the sun back with you, the brief taste of Summer here was just that...far too brief!!
Love your card, it's made me laugh tonight, all too true!!
I've just been catching up with your last few posts and they made me smile too. I have one of those indifferent to cards man in my life. DD spent ages making a lovely card for him last birthday and I found it in the bin several weeks after the big day. Needless to say I rescued it. I treaure them all even if he doesn't!!
Have a great weekend.
hugs Lisax
Hi Gay - missed you! Brilliant card - just like my day today in fact :)
Isn't that a Bird of Paradise Flower? AKA Strelitzia. Not sure where you were but they're prolific in parts of the Med. and really lovely - so exotic! TFS!
Hugs, Di xx
Oh, my heavens, Gay, that chickie is losing her eggs! I think I am going to use that as a new phrase, like, "I had one of those hectic days where I felt like I was losing my eggs!" It will replace that old steadfast, "running around like a chicken with its head cut off!"
Hmmm, yes, and then some wisecracking girlfriend will pipe up with, "Honey, you lost your eggs a loooong time ago!" so maybe I'll just stick with the other!
Thank you for sharing that amazing photo. I had no idea banana trees had flowers!
Have a fab weekend! I'm glad you are home safe and I hope it warms up! xxoo Darnell
Funny card!!! I just had one of those days.
Cute chicken card! I really like Darnell's comments, she is hilarious. Sounds like you had a vacation in a tropical spot, how wonderful! Take care, Shirleyxx

Love that cute card Gay and nice to hear you had a good holiday. Amazing flowers on the banana tree I have to agree. Butterflies never keep still when you want them to do they, lol and dragonflies are even worse!
