Paint Effects at the Craft Barn

Hi my crafty friends, Happy Saturday to you and thankyou for stopping by.

Paint effects, that's what we have been concentrating on over at the Craft Barn Blog, lots of painted items for you to peruse this week and here is my effort....

This scrapbook tin I painted, crackled, masked and sprayed, I had a lovely messy time. Chaps don't seem to want stuff but sometimes they collect tickets or score cards, you know the stuff I mean and I thought this could come in handy for the messy bits of paper usually left out and pushed around until you get fed up with seeing them. I do find crafting for men a real challenge, LOL Gay x

I used
Fresco Chalk finish paints,
Stamps by Oxford Impressions, London Telegraph
Scrapbook Tin by Woodware.

LIM 60

Hi Folks,
Hope you are having a good day today, I'm getting back into the swing of things after my break! Here is my LIM offering this week Chrissie and Mandi have challenged us to combine three themes from previous challenges. So this week is a recipe
 Take Three Challenges

So my chosen weeks were:
Week 6, One layer, off the edge.
Week 23, One layer, something with legs
Week 28, Use ink.
I've gone all vintage and romantic this week, it must be the sunshine. It's another fabulous day here in the SE of the UK lovely and warm. I've washed all the linen I can get my hands on and caught up with my DT peices and the h...........k, (dirty word) can wait so I'm hoping to be able to spend a little time in the garden this aft. I really hope that you're getting the sunshine too!!

I chose a stamp by Stampendous, the lady a border stamp by Kimberly Polson and a little piece of lace. My sentiment came from Unity. Have fun folks and thankyou for stopping to look :0) Gay x

Good to be back!!

Hi everyone, It's lovely to be back with you all, we had a great holiday and now I'm facing mountains of washing, ironing but I don't mind I've had a brill time!! This was the view from our balcony, ahhhhh Looks a bit odd but it's 2 pics together, only the horizon matches LOL

I suffered again from the dreaded mosquito bites, I think I've got a bull's eye over my head ( Here she is guys................ come on, free lunch) and they all zoom in to get me, pictures a bit fuzzy but by the time I took this I was fuzzy from all the antihistamine I'd been taking.

Here is my offering for LIM 59 Masking is the theme. I've really missed making cards and thoroughly enjoyed creating this one, should have been doing the other stuff I mentioned but just wanted to have a play, you know what it's like I'm sure.
I used the  shape left from die cutting with the Bigz picture frame and leaving it in place inking then using another mask over that inked again, quite a soft result. The flower is TH Mini Tatttered Florals in Clearly for Art, white, heated and shaped then coloured with shimmer sprays and copics.

I have received over a hundred comments whilst I've been away, Thank you all so much, and it will take a little time to get around to everyone, so bear with me and I'll be by a bit later.
Big hugs to all my favourite crafty people, Gay x

Resistance is king!

Hi, hello there and welcome:0)
Resistance is the issue of the week at the Craft Barn and I have made a card:0)

I know most of you will be familiar with this resist technique but I'm sure there will be some folks who haven't encountered it yet.
I started by stamping the ivy stamp in versmark clear embossing ink and then sprinkling with white detail embossing powder, I heat embossed and then inked and stamped over with distress inks, finally wiping gently with a soft cloth to remove ink from the embossed areas.

The sun is a Crafter's Workshop mask/template mini circles basic and it gets an outing very regularly, I love circles, Tim Holtz distress inks and his sentiments too. To finish I used Andy Skinner's geese, a beautiful stamp, they go gliding silently off into the sunset aaaah, LOL

More and clever examples of resistance crafting at the Craft Barn Blog, I hope you like :0) Gay xxx
I used
Hero Arts Sillouette Ivy
Andy Skinners Back to Nature stamps
Tim Holtz Good Thoughts stamps
White detail embossing powder
Distress inks
This post is scheduled. I'll catch up with you as soon as is possible:0) I'm going away for a short break so may not be back online until about the 20th of March! But I will try to get a connection whilst I'm away, fingers crossed!  Gay x

Mini crafting,, loads of fun:0)

Good morning to you my fine and crafty friends:0)
I hope you are having a good one? Day that is!!
Over at the Craft Barn  we have been making mini projects and my team mates have made some beautiful examples, if you have a minute check it out :0)

Here is my mini offering
A set of small cards in a box,  luckily I had some envelopes to start but it's fairly easy to make them yourself. I took the envelopes as a starter for the size of the cards.

Using an A4 card I scored and folded to make a box to fit, The cards measure 10.5 cm x 6cm, so really quite small, good for tiny thankyou's or small invites for coffee perhaps.
I stamped, inked and scored the piece of stampbord on the outside of the box. I used the peice of stampbord to echo the design on the cards, by cutting a template the same size to ink and stamp through.

Here is my hand under the box, I hope that gives and idea how small these are.
Thank you for dropping in, I hope you like my cards! Have fun, Gay x

I used
Hero Arts cling stamp Two Vine Scrolls
Crafty Individuals CI 214 Postcard with Script
Frantage Aged Gold EP
Distress inks

This post is scheduled as I'm off on my jollies tee hee, will tell you all about it when I get back, be good  and if you can't, be careful! ;D Gay xx
Hope it looks like this where I'm going :0)
