Hi and happy Saturday to you, I've just spent a very happy few hours at the Craft Barn where Andy Skinner, Jo Firth-Young and Carole Cann were getting all inky, wonderful inspiration and lots of new goodies , yum!
Today however I am here to share my One Layer Wednesday card and this is what Susan challenged us to do
OLW 72
1) use ONLY a sentiment stamp on your card...no other stamps or embellishments allowed!
2) use a NON-STANDARD size for your card
3) make at least two cards using the same stamp that vary something (color, type of ink, technique, placement of the stamp, size of card)
2) use a NON-STANDARD size for your card
3) make at least two cards using the same stamp that vary something (color, type of ink, technique, placement of the stamp, size of card)
I can't tell you how much of a challenge it was to NOT add anything else to this sentiment, I succumbed and added just a couple of very light snowflakes to the black card, I know I shouldn't, I just couldn't stop myself LOL I can just imagine it now Susan will be reiterating, no other stamping allowed, I know I know :{ I'm a bad stamper :{
I love Susan's challenges they invariably make me think, hard !! LOL Have a happy weekend folks, Gay x
The stamp is from Hobby Art. The first card is white embossed and the second is a Versacolour rainbow pad, Lollypop.

Lovely cards! Hugs, Valerie
Super cards Gay, that's a lovely sentiment. xx
Now THAT'S what I call CAS! Excellent! What a difficult challenge though! xxx
That is such a difficult challenge Gay, but you definitely stepped up to the bar my friend. Enjoy the weekend, Annette x
Spending a few hours at the craft barn sounds like my idea of heaven! Glad you had fun, Jo x
It is amazing how well just a sentiment can look,I love your cards Gay.xxx
Extreme CAS or what?!! Fantastic - I love the black one.
xx
This is great Gay! How you make the sentiment alive, my compliments!
Hugs from Belgium

I am impressed with how interesting a card can look with just a sentiment. I have seen those rainbow ink pads in the store, but never seen one in use. It's a beautiful effect.
Haha, Gay, you bad stamper, you! I had to sit on my hands after stamping the sentiment for this challenge. It was VERY challenging for me. Your cards are lovely (and just quietly, I do like those little snowflakes on the black card). :-)
You bad stamper you! Hee Hee.. I have to agree that would have been really hard for me not to add anything else.. Looks great my friend..
Hugs, Linda
I really like these Gay, but have to agree about adding things LOL
I reckon you'll get away with the couple of snowflakes because the fab sentiment on the black base steals your eye away!!! Absolutely love the first card Gay, the sentiment is gorgeous :)
Not tried this challenge....I would really struggle with extreme CAS!!

Hi Gay! Both cards look fab...but that first one has a WOW factor! I love how the sentiment pops on the black...and I'm sure the sprinkling of snowflakes was a total accident...right? LOL!!
Look at you with your rebellious snowflakes Gay! Fab cards - and what a tough challenge! Vx
Oh Wow!!! Great cards as always.
What a lovely sentiment! I like these, Gay. The focus is still entirely on the sentiment, so your rebellious snowflakes will probably be forgiven. :) Ann
You are so much fun, Gay! If you knew me you would know I would have a stroke before I could do this. They call me 'Miss detail to death'. LOLOL Your did really well!
Well I think you showed great restraint ! That was definitely a toughie but you pulled it out of the bag, superb !
Marie
wow... your OLW cards are absolutely stunning, gay!!
You know, that sentiment really does need a few snowflakes on the card. I LOVE both cards, but the darker one really is da bomb. You should add some flakes to the second one, too. Art knows no rules...and I'm not the stamping police! ;-)
Thanks so much for playing along, Gay!
