In which there are ramblings about flourishes and a lovely surprise

Hi Folks,
Welcome here and thanks for stopping by, I hope you're having a good day.
LIM 71 this week is all about One Layer and using flourishes. I have amassed quite a few in fact I'm amazed at how many I have, note to self, don't need any more flourish stamps. The trouble is that there is always a slightly better shape or one with more detail and that becomes the next must have:{ Another note to self, too many stamps must sort them out:{
Anyhoo on to my efforts

This card is a Basic Grey flourish stamped twice with two colours and perfect pearls added for a little added extra :0)

This card is actually intended for Dotty Jo. I was very fortunate and won her blog candy for her Race for Life. This race that she took part in was in honour of a very good friend of hers who  unfortunately was a victim of cancer. Thanks very much Jo and congrats on running the race you are a star!!!

And this is what I won, a voucher to spend at Bunny Zoes,  I really enjoyed choosing these lovely goodies

I am such a lucky bunny, I've used the EZ mount already, so good for unmounted stamps :0) The copic pen is a new one that I 'needed' so much it's a very light warm grey :0 The dies are just scrumptilitious and I can't wait to use them.

When I was up looking after the grandchildren we went with the youngest to a place called Eagle hieghts at Eynsford near Dartford in Kent. They have a collection of birds of prey and owls and many other animals, a camel, cheeta and a giant tortoise to name a few. Whilst there we watched a display of the birds flying over our heads and getting their exercise, it was facinating. The barn owl was my favourite, fabulous birds

If you've lasted this long I thank you for your patience and I hope to be around to visit you very soon:0) Gay xxx

Hi Gay love the two colours you chose for the flourish and the pearls are perfect:)) How lovely to win the blog candy and then be able to choose what you want!
Great photos of the owl, beautiful creatures. I love penguins as well and was watching a programme today about Philip Island and the penguin colony and they were so amusing:) It's raining again I think I'm growing webbed feet!

Great cards gay - haven't done my LIM one yet - need to get my thinking head on! What a fabulous pic of the Barnie in flight - we have one living in the fields opposite-he sits on the top of the telegraph pole outside the house at night and stares at you! OH says fortunately I am too big for him to eat.... am not sure whether that's a compliment or not!!!! LOL

Gorgeous cards Gay. I have that basic grey flourish but bits of mine have started to perish :( So sad when that happens...... I think I ruined it cleaning before I really understood how to look after my clear stamps. I love the two tone blinged up with pearls affect you've given it - it;s stunning!

A girl can never have too many flourishes can she? or too many stamps?! I love your photos of Eagle Heights - that sky is amazing as well as the owl. Vicky x

Two beautiful cards Gay, I love the flourish that you've used on the first one.
A great photo of the owl, I'm not too far away from Eagle Heights and we took the kids a few years ago when they were smaller.

You've been so busy with some stunning creations while I've been away, Gay.
These flourishes are beautiful. I know exactly what you mean about having to have all of them and then I can never find just what I want even then!!!
Your day out sounds great and that blue sky is beautiful.

What beautiful stamps and amazing cards. Love the double stamping on the first and those rich dynamic colours so scrummy and bold and gorgeous. The second reminds me of a Victorian home for some reason and love how you have left it blank above . A beautiful and elegant piece If ever I saw one. Fab pictures of the birds of prey I went to some place very similar many moons ago in the UK and was amazed at how large these birds actually are but also how graceful. Oh and never get bored reading your posts !

Hi Gay,

These are fabulous cards. Love the flourish on the first one and the stripes on the second.

I love barn owls. I used to work at a park that was an old homestead and there were several barn owls on the property, in the barns of course! :)
