It's a dream.......

Dreamweaver stencils and pastes that is, all over the Craft Barn blog this week have been stencils and dimensional pastes!
Hello there everyone, lovely to see you and thanks for dropping by. My offering this week is just a few cards and I really  hope you like them
Here I've been using the stencil as a mask and inked through with distress inks

This next card I used translucent paste and FX mica powders, if you sprinkle the powders on before the paste goes dry it will adhere nicely. On the areas I missed I painted the powder on with a little water.

This card was a big boo boo, I messed it up and the paste went under the stencil but I painted it all over to disguise my mistakes and then rubbed over with a  metallic gel paste. I think it looks a little like brass and I'm quite pleased with how it ended up :0)
And finally with this card I used white paste and painted over the flowers with Fresco chalk paint. The leaves I painted with FX micas and fixed with cheap hairspray.
I used
Dreamweaver Stencil Wisteria
Pastes, White and Translucent
FX mica powder , I used Kiwi. and Purple Satin
Fresco Chalk paint,Orchid, Moonlight and Little Black dress,
Tim Holtz Papillons Stamps
Metallic rub on paste Traditional

The special offer at the Craft Barn this week is
Just type
DREAMWEAVERCAROL
In the offer code box as you go through checkout

If you've lasted this long you deserve a pat on the back, Thank you and enjoy your weekend folks, Gay xxx

Ahh Baby!

Good morning fellow crafters, ooh sounds a bit posh, well anyway  welcome to coffee towers, I haven't had my coffee yet so I'm a little flat, not a house but a flat, oh dear I'm sorry, really do need that coffee. And swiftly on........... here are my cards for LIM 68 which is a theme this week. Chrissie and Mandi have asked for a baby card or a childs card

Both these cards are one layer, not required but in these days with postage what it is........and all that. I stamped, masked and inked and coloured, both stamps are little clear stamps that I've had for ages.
The little giraffe is an Imaginisce, snag 'em stamp and has a PTI sentiment. The baby is an Inkadinkadoo mini stamp.
I hope you like, I'm off to get my coffee and then I need to check out the other wonderful Limettes creations. It is supposed to be another lovely day, fingers crossed you can enjoy it:0) Hugs Gay xxx

A Mini Masterpiece

Hi folks, I hope that you're having a great weekend? I'm getting myself back on course after the mammoth washing and ironing spree that follows holidays, fun fun fun!!

Heather is hosting the OLW 88 challenge this week and has asked us to produce a mini masterpiece, no more than 2inches square in size,  right up my street, Yippee!! I made some cards

This one uses Hobbycraft stamps with SU sentiments, masked and inked with distress inks, coloured with copics.

This is a small cityscape from Kars and an SU sentiment again, on both these cards I highlighted certain areas with the glitter gel pen. For sunshine on the boat and the lights of the buildings on the other

This last card is a stamp that I bought from Rubbadubbadoo, out of business now :[ A stamp by Cherry pie for the crackle and again copics for colour. This was a great theme for a challenge with lots of scope and I thoroughly enjoyed it :0) Thanks Heather xxx

There is a challenge going on over at the Craft Barn, following our week of Faux finishes, we are inviting you to have a go

Wonderful weekend!

What's French for something that isn't what it appears to be? Well that's what Isabelle asked everyone on the Craft Barn blog at the end of last week, now I knew the answer but even I had to think for a moment!!

Hello there and welcome, Yes it's FAUX you knew all along didn't you (:0)
Here is my card and I chose to use faux enamelling, I stamped and embossed with gold embossing powder. After it had cooled I painted with cheap bleach, being very careful not to inhale the fumes or spill it. When dry I painted with distress ink and finally used Diamond Glaze to give dimension and the enamel finish.
There are more pictures on the Craft Barn Blog and so many different faux finishes too. The DT team have been really inventive this week.

I used
Diamond Glaze
Butterfly Kisses stamps, Roses (again! Love them :)
Frantage Aged Gold Embossing Enamel
Distress ink, Barn Door

Well I'm back from my hols:0) Hubby and I travelled to Italy and went to see Arezzo, Sienna, Florence, Rome and Assisi. We had a fabulous time but it was absolutely exhausting, I think we walked for most of the week, my knees are groaning LOL
This is a wonderful ceiling from an historic building in the centre of Florence and I loved it more than all the rest, except for the Sistine of course!

This is me, in the centre of Rome, taking a well earned rest after lunch and getting ready for another long walk!!!! It was worth it though.

Whilst I was in Rome I met up with Giovanna my DT team mate from the Craft Barn! It was excellent, we had an Italian ice cream, yum yum and a few giggles too and she gave me a beautiful heart that she had made, soo clever, wish I could sew like this

WOW It's gorgeous!!! I am a very lucky lady:0)

I'm making my way down my comments list and will visit you soon, have a wonderful weekend my friends, Gay x

Butterfly Kisses

Hello there my crafty friends, It's Saturday again, YAY,
This post is scheduled because I'm off travelling but only for a week,  I'll be back very soon:0)

Over at the Craft Barn we've been using Butterfly Kisses stamps and all this week has been a special offer on the stamps, 10% off, just use the code BKSTAMPS in the offer code box as you go through check out.

This card was coloured with distress inks and mica powder added to the centre of the flowers
 I used the Roses stamps
Here I tried to make it 'blousey' loose and indistinct, the Cosmic shimmers lend themselves to this method , I think. They shine and shimmer in the right light. I hope you like my cards and don't forget to visit the Craft Barn to use the 10% off Butterfly Kisses stamps.

Shrink away!

Hi folks, Happy Saturday!
I have been playing again, this time with shrink plastic. My idea was that the embellishments I made could easily be attached to a necklace or earrings or both. I have attached mine to my card.

Here on the reverse of each daisy you can see there is a little bling, hopefully it will glint in the sun.
Over at the Craft Barn all this week we have been using shrink plastic and just to help out there is
10% off in the store, nice :0)

I used

TimHoltz stamps,French Market Place

My first ATC

Hi Crafty Friends:0)
I hope you've had a lovely week so far? I shall be quite glad when this week is over it hasn't been my best!!!
I made an ATC for the Stampotique Designers Challenge. My little beauty is climbing off the ATC, she wants to get free

She almost managed too, look off she goes, cheeky monkey LOL
This little one was a delight to make, I stamped her on white card and cut her out, painted her with my Lyra Aquacolours. It's 'Relaxin' !!
She's normally sitting taking it easy but I gave her legs, a bow and a new skirt from 'Gooseneck'  The winder on her back is her umbrella and she was itching to go!

I used a Crafters Workshop template for the words and highlighted the words 'Beauty' and 'Art' with Perfect Pearls mica powder.

The background is sprayed with Dylusions ink, fabby colours but I'm going to be careful to shield her from the sunshine. remember this card? I was so pleased that it was showcased at Less is more, Oh Yay!!!

Well now it looks rather different, after leaving it on the window sill it's all bleached I'm going to have to paint it again, beware of this effect painty people.

Right I'm off I have so many makes that I'm behind with, I might be creating all night, oooh wouldn't that be fun!!
Thank you for dropping in and check out the Stampotique Designers Challenge there are some lovely ATC's there:0)
