It's a gorgeous sunny day over here at coffee towers and I've had 24hrs to mull over a great challenge....................................
It's OLW 54( One Layer Wednesday) time at Simplicity. Susan has challenged us to make a card for a baby using inspiration from Cake Wrecks I chose, as my inspiration, this yummy cake,
Isn't it sumptuous? nom, nom nom:0)
Here is my interpretation, using one of the free Cuttlebug folders that I got when I first purchased the machine. This is the first time I've used it. I inked inside the folder to get a greater impact, just love white on white but this definitely needed something else. I used VersaMagic Chalk ink, Pixie Dust.
The picture is a bit dull I'm afraid the sun went in just at the wrong time :{
The folder was too big to get a square impression so I masked off some of it, seems to have worked, I'm pleased with the result anyway.
So, no stamping today, I did colour my ribbon (seam binding) with a Copic pen using R11 Pale cherry pink, gorgeous colour one of my favourite for cheeks!
I was so tempted to add a border around the image or maybe some gems but I totally resisted and kept it CAS, does it need anything more, let me know? Please? LOL. Hope you have a grand day. :0)

Great take on the challenge - love it! Very clever use of the EF too - must give that a try. I'm half way through my entry hope to finish and blog it tonight.

Gorgeous, gorgeous card, Love the gorgeous pink colour and the clever masking. Have to say it's perfect as it is doesn't need a thing. Can't believe you Googled the song. I Googled the second one its Peter Paul and Mary 1966 but you were not even born then. Thanks for your lovely comments.

Your card is a great take on the cake. I love the way you've used the CB folder. I've never used those freebie ones either but you've inspired me to get them out. I had a look at the cake site, being a cake decorator myself, but these were something else, fantastic.

Sheer perfection! I love it just like it is!! I love that little embossing folder (?). I haven't tried inking an embossing folder yet...gotta give it a whirl though.
BTW, I posted a little tutorial on my blog for taking photos when the sun's not cooperating...just a little "cheap" light box I made. Now I can take my photos at night too.
I need to check and see if I have that little embossing folder...maybe it came with my bug and I don't remember...hmmmm....
Ooo...I just found my little EF like that!! Now if I can just figure out how you inked it up! I definitely need to give it a try! Thanks for the inspiration!
Ha ha, I was just about to visit you, and you made a comment on my blog, how psychic am I?? I love this gorgeous baby card, your masking has worked beautifully! What a scrummy cake pic, I may do this one myself!
